Two Hundred Kilometres northwest of Bangkok, the Erawan Nature Park covers some 550 square kilometres near the  Burmese border.  It was designated a park in  1975.  A tributary of the Kwai Yai River cascades over a series of waterfalls

The seven-tiered waterfall named after Erawan the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology which they are said to resemble

   

 A local guide recommends this romantic spot to "sweet hearted couples".   Take a bathing suit and a light pair of canvas shoes
